Roberto Vilchez Yamato

Roberto Vilchez Yamato is a Professor at the Institute of International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (IRI/PUC-Rio). He holds a PhD in International Relations from IRI/PUC-Rio (2011), with a Sandwich Doctorate (2009/2010) at the University of Victoria (UVic). Since January 2012, he is a PhD candidate at the Law School of Birkbeck (University of London). He has an MA in Social Sciences/International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP – 2004), as well as an MA in Human Rights obtained at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE – 2004) and validated by the São Paulo University (USP – 2010). He holds bachelor degrees in International Relations (1999) and Law (2001) from PUC-SP. Yamato was a visiting scholar at the Watson Institute for International Studies (Brown University, USA, 2009). His objects of study include Critical Theories of International Relations, History and Theory of International Law, Criminal International Law, Human Rights and International Mediation.
