GSUM, CMA and Swisspeace together: Conference on International Mediation.

The Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM), the Centre for Mediation in Africa (CMA) at the University of Pretoria, and the SwissPeace Foundation in Berne, have the pleasure to announce that they will jointly host an Academic Conference on International Mediation at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. The conference will be held between 2-4 June, 2015. In order to enhance the relevance of mediation research, both policy makers and practitioners will participate in the panel discussions.

Submissions by individual scholars to present and to submit papers are open. Prospective presenters are asked to inform the organizers the topic to be discussed by 31 March 2015. The final papers will then have to be submitted by 13 May 2015.

GSUM Fellowship Program – Applications still open.

The Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM) is now accepting applications for 03 open positions as Visiting Fellows, from July 06th to September 06th 2015, to research, teach and debate on topics related to conflict resolution and mediation processes. Fellows will stay in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the time of the fellowship and will be provided with a stipend and a working space at the BRICS Policy Center (BPC).

GSUM Winter School 2015.

The GSUM Winter School is a two-week intensive academic and training program on international mediation organized by the Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM) in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The School is open to a maximum of 24 students per week who want to have an intensive and substantial learning and training experience in the theory and practice of international mediation, with a particular focus on issues and questions concerning or related to the Global South.
